Fascinated by the dialogue between our spiritual selves and physical bodies, Sara combines colors, textures, gestural marks, and rhythmic patterns in her bold and evocative compositions. Her works on paper and canvas give visual form to complex internal experiences through an array of media including watercolor, acrylic, charcoal, soft pastel, and tempera paint. By merging techniques like layering, scratching, collage, and incorporation of salvaged materials, the artist’s abstract paintings articulate the naturally occurring cadences of life, both perceived and tangible. Sara’s work is an invitation for the viewer to explore their own inner dialogue within the safe context of her paintings.
