Abstract Artist Sara Schroeder

Sara is an abstract painter whose energetic and vibrant style employs vivid color, intuitive flow, and lively movement to provoke introspection in the viewer. Working most frequently in watercolor and acrylic, the emerging Miami artist incorporates multiple mediums and techniques for detailing and visual depth. Her works, which are held in hundreds of private collections around the world, exhibit her expressive intuitive art style and propensity to interpret emotion through color, texture, and pattern.

Artist Statement

Miami Artist Sara Schroeder’s work examines the movement between lived experience and the elusive universal reality within which we exist. Fascinated by the dialogue between our spiritual selves and physical bodies, Sara combines colors, textures, gestural marks, and rhythmic patterns in her bold and evocative compositions. Her works on paper and canvas give visual form to complex internal experiences through an array of media including watercolor, acrylic, charcoal, soft pastel, and tempera paint. By merging techniques like layering, scratching, collage, and incorporation of salvaged materials, the artist’s abstract paintings articulate the naturally occurring cadences of life, both perceived and tangible. Sara’s work is an invitation for the viewer to explore their own inner dialogue within the safe context of her paintings.
